d10 – 3wk shakedown
Frustrating:
We’re still no closer to finding out where the part that is coming from Melbourne is.
We were planning to stay in Bowen for 2 nights, and have just had to extend for yet another night, which will make it 8.
Its most definitely an exercise in patience, and we’re now obviously not going to get to visit all the various places we’d sort of hoped to go to, we just keep reminding ourselves – and each other – that this is an exercise in slowing down and enjoying the process, rather that rushing along playing ‘tag’ and seeing how many places we can ‘collect’ on our imaginary itinerary.
The most frustrating thing is having been told we’d be on our way by Friday, which while we doubted that would be true – it gave us hope of a quick repair.
It has also been very frustrating having to repeatedly call the workshop admin to try and get an update twice a day!
The Park:
Thankfully the Park has been very accomodating with letting us keep tacking on days to our stay!
The location of the Park has its benefits and drawbacks. It’s a small park, with not a ton of amenities – other than a quite small pool – so there hasn’t been loads of kids staying which makes for a much quieter experience.
The downside is that its quite a long way away from everything (town centre, supermarket etc), which while it saves us money not shopping, we do have to plan our outings to get everything all at once, and to try and not make it take too long so we and Mabi don’t get overheated.
Ommmmmmm…
All we can say at this point is that we’re doing our very best to ‘be at one’ with the circumstances, and to live true to our slow-living ethos….!
Until next time – happy travels; and make the moments matter.
Ommmmmm… practicing the simple slow road life…
