d2 – 3wk shakedown
We had a quiet day today spending time around our campsite doing some reading, writing and emailing auto-electricians from Townsville to Bowen to try and find someone to help us out with the belt that needs to be fitted.
We got a number of “sorry too busy” responses from all of the Townsville ones that we tried, but had a win with a guy from Bowen, who has said if we ring him tomorrow morning, he will try and help us out.
We’re feeling much happier now that we feel like we’ve got someone in our corner!
The rest of our day was broken up by lots of lovely walks with Mabi, and a mid afternoon heat-of-the-day nap for the Tall One.
We also did a bit of rearranging of some cupboards inside the bus, but will need to do this more throughout the trip as we work out how and where things work best for us.
Tomorrow we will head for Bowen, but we’ll call the auto-elec in Bowen first-up to see if we need to collect parts in Townsville on our way South; as there is more chance of a greater range of stock availability there.
In another stroke of luck, after a very cloudy afternoon and evening, the clouds partially parted and we got another brilliant display of the moon-rise this evening.
Soooo incredibly beautiful!
We’ve really enjoyed our stay at Rollingstone, and will definitely come back here for an extended stay at some point.
Until next time – happy travels, and make the moments matter.
it IS a ‘rest-day’ after all…
