It’s alllll happening!
The Journey Begins: Retirement, Adventure, a new chapter, and Life on the Road
The cat is out of the bag, the bullet has been bitten, and the leap has been leapt!
After more than two decades as a top Real Estate Executive, the Tall One has officially handed in her notice from her much loved career.
It’s no longer just a distant dream — it’s reallllly happened – we are now living full time on the road.
Feelings..
Exciting? Absolutely.
Terrifying? Yep – a little! (ok – a lot!)
It’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty — giving up a structured career for an open-ended adventure is no small shift.
But if there’s one thing we’ve learned as we’ve aged, it’s that big changes bring big opportunities.
Changes
For years we’ve talked about what Life after structured work might look like – and now we’re stepping into it!
No more schedules filled with client meetings, negotiations, and deadlines.
And – for the time being – there will be no more planting, harvesting, and working around the Farm by the seasons.
Instead, our minds and calendar are filled with plans to reconnect with Family and a few cherished Friends, that we haven’t seen in far too long; and to fully embrace our new life on the road.
Our Home for this next chapter, as many of you already know, will be Mr Henry MoHo, our MotorHome (though we tend to refer to him as either a bus or house-truck).
Henry is an Avida Birdsville MotorHome on a 2018 Fiat Ducato Maxi 2.3 180 chassis – for those of you that like to know these kinds of specifics!
We’ll be spending the rest of the year testing out long-term life on wheels, adjusting to a new rhythm, and seeing where the road takes us, but first – we need to take some quiet time just for us, so posting might be a bit sporadic for the first few weeks as we settle into our new-normal.
So here’s to the next adventure, the miles ahead, and the memories waiting to be made.
And yes, Mabi and Molly are along for this new chapter with us as well.
Stay tuned; Henrys – and OUR – journey is off and running!!
Until next time – happy travels; and make the moments matter.
