d6 – 3wk shakedown

When we hadn’t heard anything from the Auto-Elec by around 9am, the Tall One gave him a call just to check in with them.

Anticipated:

As we expected, the part hasn’t arrived yet, and whilst they will try and find out where in transit it is, that can of course be a bit hit and miss.
They’ll call us later in the day with an update.

We decided that we’d spend a day just doing things around our little home on wheels, and we also both spent the day learning some new tech skills, and of course doing numerous Mabi beach walks as well.

Weather:

Most of the day has been overcast, and by mid-afternoon we had showers coming through.

We’ve heard from our house-sitter (the spectacular Ms S) that there has been storms coming through at the Farm today.
The grounds and plants will be very happy about that!

Auto Repairs Update:

Another call came in from the Auto-Shop, and as far as they can tell the part still hasn’t arrived in Townsville.
It will come here via there because: air-freight.

They were very apologetic, but we know full well that it is totally out of their control.

It could be as late as next Tuesday before it arrives, due to the impending weekend, and whilst we have been given the ‘okay’ to go ahead on our travels and come back when we’re ready, we’re more comfortable with sticking close to here for now.

Flexibility:

A big part of this trip is teaching ourselves to be more adaptable and not to be having such hard and fast plans about where we need to be and when; but rather to be more ‘go with the flow’ and more flexible and versatile.

Food:

We had a scrumptious homemade lunch of crackers with cottage cheese, ham and tomato, and we slow-cooked a chilli for most of the day to have for dinner tonight on wraps, which we also have enough left over of to make nachos for tomorrow night, and some for the freezer to make baked potatoes next week sometime.

Another enjoyable day on our Henry-home.

Until next time – happy travels, and make the moments matter.

Making enough chilli for 3 meals – yummm!
